múm as you had known it before this year’s go go smear the poison ivy is gone. this is the new cast, slightly larger, slightly louder. their performance was pretty good, but gone are the elusive childlike vocals i had grown to love (with the departure of krístin anna). the entire set was material from the last album with the exception of three old songs, two of which were strictly instrumental. they did try to do “the ghosts you draw on my back” with dual vocals between örvar and mr.Silla (the blond girl). needless to say for the pre-2007 múm fan, it left something to be desired. like many have already stated, the sound, lineup and feel warrant a new name. this is them doing a little bow after their encore.

The vocals weren’t always childish, but they were always mysterious, like a childhood. Need we forget there was already an instrumental lp from these folks.

true, their instrumentation was a huge part of my adoration for them. BUT that as well changed with krístin anna’s departure. in example: the latest album.
